How-to: Moving a Career forward

Discussion Point: How can I move my career forward if it is at a stand still? Can God help me to move my career forward when nothing is happening. If so, how?

Speech: Stagnant, lifeless, standstill, theses are just a few of the words that people use to describe a career that they feel isnt moving forward. When they feel stranded or unable to advance further than they already have. People become bored with life when it begins an endless cycle of repetitive tasks that never seem to end. Discouragement and depression often set in, this makes for a very unpleasant individual.

Although, there is a realization that all need to come to at some point in their lives. It’s simplicity is astounding, and yet the impact it can have on ones life is even more than you can ever imagine. Hard to believe that there are some people that go through their entire life, and never once even think that there must be another way, an easier way, a way where they don’t lose friends and alienate their family.

The realization that we all must come to is that through God, nothing is impossible. All he asks is that we believe and place our full trust in him. We praise him when life is going well, and we praise him even more when life is hard. The promise of Eden was lost when Adam and Eve sinned, meaning that life will not always be perfect.

But as Job is put to the test in the Bible, so are all of we tested. Job was a Godly man who shunned evil and was successful and protected, all through God. However, Satan believed that he knew mans heart better than God, their creator. He told God to strip Job of everything, all his possessions and family, then he would surely curse God. So the Lord allowed it, yet Job still praised God for his health. Again, Satan came into the presence of God and spoke, Surely as the sun you created rises, he will curse you without his health.

Through all of this, Job praised the Lord God. Proclaiming that the lord gives and takes away, that we are to praise him through the good and the bad. Belief and faith that God has a plan for each one of us and the knowledge that you must push forward with your life. God will send his blessings as a rain when the fields of your life are sown with the crops of the kingdom.

Be My Valentine Emma Stone

People always say they are in love with this actor or that actress. But they never do anything about it because they have a sense of inferiority. OOHH they are so much better than me, I’m just a hick from podunk Pennsylvania, there is no way they would like me boohoo I’m gonna have a pity party.

But you want to know what’s even more funny? Most actors and actresses that make it to the big time started out at the same place as you and me. Harrison Ford for instance was the sound and light guy for star wars when Spielberg saw him and made him Han Solo because the person he cast didn’t show up. Now he is a retiring actor after a great career as Han Solo and Indiana Jones!

Even Katie Holmes said that she had crush on Tom Cruise growing up and now she is married to him. She found a way to get close to someone she admired and liked. Even Emma Stone comes from a small portion of AZ called Scottsdale!

Now im not going to say that I Love Emma Stone one way or the other. Because how can you love someone you have never met? (Babies not included in the previous statement) All I can say with extreme certainty is that I have a major crush on her. I’ve seen all the movies that she has starred in, im sorry, I could not stomach superbad. I think I lost at least half my remaining brain cells trying to watch that movie.

But you know, Valentines day is coming up and I was joking around with a friend of mine after just watching Easy A about how awesome it would be if I could somehow get a Valentine out to Emma Stone. Because that’s what Valentines day is all about isn’t it? Telling someone you really like how you feel and hoping that by some random stroke of luck that they feel the same way or at least find you attractive!

I know I look really scruffy at the moment, but that is only because I have been cast in an independent film and need to grow a beard for the role. I’m normally a lot more clean shaven!

But all this to say, Emma Stone, Will you be my Valentine?

Friends, Turkey, and Zombies

This past thanksgiving was my first time away from my family on thanksgiving. It was most certainly an interesting holiday. I went to my friends apartment where we cooked up a ham and mashed potatoes and green beans, it was a fun time. But it lacked what i was used to, a hustling and bustling holiday full of food and family drama. I say drama, but thats just how things are, when you get 16 members of a family together there is bound to be some sort of issues!

Anyway, most people see this holiday as just a day to kick back, drink, eat and watch football. But that isnt even remotely close to what its about. Its not even a wholly christian holiday either, as most people believe. It was first celebrated by Quakers when they first came to America. The holiday isnt about what deity you serve, worship, make ritual sacrifices to or whatever. Its simply a holiday to give thanks for everything and everyone you have in your life. To be happy for what you have and to look to the future.

I think that it is a great way to start the Holiday season. Also what better way to end Thanksgiving than a good old zombie apocalypse? Seriously, those rascally buggers are always trying to muss up everyones plans. so a few well placed bullets into some brainpans and the world can go back to the way it was. Also, i just recently watched the premier of “The Walking Dead” on AMC. I didnt think that it would be possible to make a show about zombies and the apocalypse, but the writers there did an absolutely fantastic job. The plot moves along, the characters are very real and most of all, over all it is extremely believable. I’ve heard complaints about the acting and the zombies, but you know what, i dont think there is any validity to those complaints.
